The total area of new commercial and industrial buildings constructed within the City of Cambridge based on building permits.
2014 Proved to be a strong year for commercial and industrial construction by area, driven by several large projects. While construction dropped off in 2015, it still rose to levels higher then 2013, providing a slight positive trend in industrial and commercial construction by area.
Allows for the identification of general trends in city construction and to track large annual fluctuations.
